How to enter Students into TSSEC

If you have students who qualified to participate in state solo and ensemble contests, you will make entries in Texasmusicforms.com under the TSSEC tab.

Check to be sure every state-eligible entry (1st division Class 1 solos that met any applicable memory requirements and ALL 1st division Class 1 ensembles) are marked with a 1C (certified) in Texas Music Forms (click on S & E Ratings in your account), as the system will not permit you to register events not labeled with a 1C. If you have any events that should have a 1C but do not, please contact your Region Executive Secretary to correct the mistake before TSSEC Registration opens.

Registration generally opens in the first part of April, but the State Office will post the official registration information in mid-March. The State Office will post messaging inside of Texasmusicforms.com, letting users know when registration will open and the deadlines for entering. This is an example of what that looks like.

  1. Log in as a director > Click on the TSSEC tab

  1. Once you click on the tab, there will be messaging at the top of the page:

  1. To begin entering your students, you will first have to answer a couple of questions to certify your program is qualified to enter students.

  1. The next screen will ask for further information about your entries, shown here.

  1. Now you will click on Enter Students.

  1. This will bring up a list of all of your students that have qualified for TSSEC. If you don't see a student on the list that you expect to see, please contact your Region Executive Secretary to validate that the scores were entered correctly. Please only enter your students that you know will be attending, as fees are for REGISTRATION, not participation. If an entry is made, you will be expected to pay the fees for that entry, regardless of whether the students participate at the TSSEC or not.

  1. Check with every state-eligible student to determine which events plan to attend. Determine who will accompany each of your solos, as you will be asked to enter the accompanist's name when registering a solo. This information assists us with avoiding schedule conflicts when we create the master schedule in late April.

Review the FAQ that includes information on how many students you may assign to a single accompanist.

    Review all other contest information.

  2. Click the slider next to each student's name/ensemble from no to yes if they are planning to participate. Your students will now be registered.

  3. Print your invoice by clicking on the icon in the upper right-hand corner that looks like a money bag.

This will open your invoice in a new tab. You can print the invoice from here or pay it by credit card by clicking the buttons at the top of the invoice. You can also print a new W-9 form if you need one.
