How to correct late fees

Regional Secretaries can log in and change the date of an event deadline to correct the date.


***NOTE: Once a date has been changed to a date in the future, it CANNOT be changed to a date in the past after the fact.



Click the icon for “Print Event Forms”

2. Select Form to Print 1A and select your school and event from the drop downs

3. Click Show Forms

4. This will bring them to a Contest Fee Invoice and you will see a bar across the top that has a message “This school has invalid late fee flags.  Click here for more information and to fix.”  Click that bar.

5. This will bring the user to a screen where they can fix the late fees. 

6. This will show the events/students who have late fees.  The lines that are being charged a late fee have “True” under the Flagged Late and Charged Late columns. The user will not be able to fix these until they correct the deadline for the event.  ***AGAIN, REMEMBER THAT ONCE A DATE IS MOVED TO A FUTURE DATE, IT CANNOT BE RETURNED TO A DATE IN THE PAST. UIL WILL NOT ALLOW A USER TO HANDPICK A SELECT ITEMS TO WAVE A LATE FEE USING THIS METHOD. IF THE DATE IS CHANGED BACK TO AN EARLIER DATE, ALL OF THE ENTRIES WILL ONCE AGAIN BE CHARGED A LATE FEE.***

7.  Navigate to the line item that has the issue and select the fix box.  There is a “Check All” box at the top if the school has a lot of items they need to fix and they know they all need to be corrected. 

8. After the user has selected all the items that they want to fix, click the “Apply Fixes” button at the bottom right hand corner of the page. 

Now you will see that the entry has been updated and the late fee is gone.  The entry has been corrected.
